How do I get paid using InstallMac?
Every time a user downloads a Mac application through InstallMac, the developer whose application was initially installed can get paid twice:
1. Once for a complete installation using InstallMac.
2. If the user accepts an advertiser’s offer during the installation process, InstallMac tracks and credits that offer acceptance to the developer. -
How do we make sure the software in the InstallMac network is safe?
InstallMac works extremely hard at ensure all the applications in our network are safe and trustworthy. Our quality assurance team carefully reviews every piece of software. -
What happens when a user downloads an application wrapped in InstallMac?
In addition to installing the downloaded application, the user is presented with one or more offers of other applications recommended by InstallMac. The user can accept or decline installing any of the additional offers. -
What happens when a user accepts a recommendation for additional software by InstallMac?
When a user accepts a recommendation, the additional application is downloaded and the installed in line with the original application, without any interruption or dependency between the two processes. -
What happens if a user declines a recommendation?
If the user declines a recommendation, only the original software is installed. -
So, InstallMac only presents recommendations during installation?
Yes. InstallMac recommendations are shown only during the installation of the downloaded software. InstallMac does not launch pop-ups, ads, or installs any adware or malware at any time. -
What does ‘opt-in’ and ‘opt-out’ mean? Are InstallMac-powered recommendations ‘opt-out’ or ‘opt-in’?
Opt-in refers to recommendations where nothing in the offer is preselected for installation, while opt-out refers to recommendations where “install” is the default option. On the InstallMac Software Network we allow our developers and advertisers to make their own choices concerning how they wish to recommend software or be recommended. -
How does it really work?
Upon running, the installer powered by InstallMac detects the user's language settings, operating system, geo location and other such parameters, presents the user with the first valid recommendation. For a recommendations to be valid, it must pass certain criteria (such as, “Is this software already installed?”, “Are the files needed to install the software available?”, etc.). Once a valid recommendation is presented to the user, he can choose whether to accept or decline it. No personal or identifiable user information is collected during this process. -
Launch a web page when a monetization package was installed - what is it?
InstallMac provides you with an option to launch a web page of your choosing at the end of the monetization package installation.In addition to any key values present in the URL you provide, InstallMac will append to this URL any dynamic key values you use in the URL you provided for the installation file, thus enabling you with further reporting options. -
Is InstallMac a virus, Malware, Spyware or in any way harmful to my computer?
Absolutely not!

Is InstallMac Adware?
Well, Adware is unfortunately is a largely misconceived as a bad thing. But Adware is not a dirty word. It is a term related mostly with free software and basically means that advertisers are the ones paying for the software, making it free for you. Almost every ""free"" app you use on your smartphone is Adware for that matter. So the answer, more specifically, is that InstallMac is partly Adware. -
Is InstalMac PUP? (Potentially Unwanted Program)
PUP is yet another irrelevant and misleading label you may come across in reference to InstallMac. InstallMac is used by millions of satisfied users, so the attempt to label it as "Potentially Unwanted" because of several hundreds of complaints from "unwanting" users is ridiculous.
